December 30, 2009 - CBE Hosts AACSB International Conference on World Class Practices in Mangement Education
Hosted by the United Arab Emirates University, the conference was held at the Shangri-La Hotel Dubai, December 6-8, 2009, and featured the latest in best practices in management education.

As AACSB's first event in the Middle East, the three-day event focused on global issues and unique challenges important to business schools in the region.

Deans, associate/vice deans, directors, university presidents and faculty from countries including Chinese Taipei, Egypt, Germany, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States gathered in Dubai to share best practices, explore current trends and initiatives, and visualize new possibilities in the business education field.

Among the topics covered by the conference, the current challenges and the potential of economic sustainability in the Middle East and the role that family business, entrepreneurship, and education have in shaping the future of business in the Middle East, in addition to accreditation related topics. November 22nd, 2009 - Mentor visit to King Abdulaziz University
CBE Dean David Graf and Associate Dean Mohamed Madi visited the Faculty of Economics & Administration (FEA) at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) during the period October 22-23, 2009 as AACSB mentors for FEA, during the school?s Pre-Accreditation phase. Drs. Graf and Madi met with KAU President and Vice-Presidents, the Dean, members of the Accreditation Task Force, Faculty Committees, and faculty members at the male as well as at female campus. The two mentors are helping FEA administrators prepare their accreditation plan which is to be submitted to AACSB in early December 2009.  [more...]

Inaugural Summer Research Presentation Day - November 19th, 2009 
The College of Business and Economics will be holding its First Summer Research Presentation Day at the CBE Lounge in Al-Jimi I Campus on November 19, 2009.  This event will feature the first edition of the Book of Abstracts of varied research efforts by the CBE Faculty during Summer 2009 and is an example of the CBE's effort to make the College's research available to the society at large.  [read more..]
