CBE Dean Geralyn McClure Franklin launched the CBE Student Ambassador Program in August
2015. Outstanding female and male students majoring disciplines within the College
were selected to represent the CBE at various events throughout the year to include
advising, registration, recruiting, and hosting visitors.
The College of Business and Economics congratulates Dr. Jocelyn Grira, Assistant Professor
in the Department of Economics Finance, for earning a Best Paper Award in the 18th Eurasia Business & Economics Conference held in American University of Sharjah in January 2016. The awarded research paper is entitled “Pricing Beliefs: Empirical Evidence.
"The trend towards finger scanners, the digital equivalent of the 20th century punch
clock, is growing across industries and occupational groups in the UAE. The idea of
capturing accurate data on employee attendance through the use of finger scanners
seems, on the surface, to be a reasonable and uncontentious development.".
Dean Geralyn McClure Franklin welcomed 17 students and two faculty members from the
University of Cincinnati (UC) to the UAEU and the College of Business and Economics
(CBE) in mid-December 2015. Dr. Charles Matthews and Dr. BJ Zinger were the faculty
members directing the study abroad program to the UAE that included stops for the
UC students in Dubai, Al Ain, and Abu Dhabi.
